WHAT IT MEANS FOR US

Ice Caps Melting

One of the main issues with the ice caps melting is that the melting ice releases more greenhouse gases into the air which makes the warming even faster.

Most obviously melting ice caps will mean the sea level rises which will flood any low-lying land and could make millions of people homeless. It will also damage farming land and cause more migration of people from dangerous countries to safe ones.

There are some theories that global warming is changing our weather patterns and making extreme weather like floods, hurricanes and storms more likely. These all damage homes and can kill people.
